A Cantonese opera performer takes centre stage in this mixed media piece, celebrating the rich tradition of this art form. I’ve interwoven various mediums to create a multi-layered visual experience that showcases the dramatic and expressive nature of the performance. For nearly four decades, Hong Kong’s cultural heritage has held me captive. Here in Sai Kung, where I make my home, we experience a truly magical annual event - a Cantonese opera performance in a bamboo theatre.
